What Lantana glass asks for

Lantana is a master-planned community in unincorporated Denton County, which is why the mail here carries both Lantana and Argyle addresses. The homes sit on smaller lots than the acreage either side of it, closer together, with the consistent elevations a planned community is built for.

Tight lots change what dirties the glass. Sprinkler heads on a compact lot are close enough to the house that overspray lands on the windows most days through irrigation season, and North Texas water leaves its minerals behind every time. The spots you can't wipe off are that — mineral deposit, baked on by the sun, building up season after season.

That's worth catching early. Left long enough, deposit stops sitting on the glass and starts etching into it, and at that point no cleaning takes it off. Most Lantana homes we look at are nowhere near that, but the ones facing a misaligned head for a few summers are the ones to watch.

What we look for

Three things that show up on Lantana glass.

  • Sprinkler overspray

Close-set lots put heads near the glass. Minerals land, dry in the sun, and build up through the season.

  • Hard-water spotting

The spots that won't wipe off are mineral, not dirt. They need taking off properly before they etch.

  • Matching elevations

Planned streets show a dirty house. Neighbours book together here, and we're happy to schedule that way.

Good to know

Lantana questions, answered.

  • There are spots on my windows that won't wipe off. What are they?

Almost always hard-water mineral from sprinkler overspray. It isn't dirt and it doesn't come off with a cloth. We'll tell you at the estimate whether it will clean off or whether it has gone too far and etched.

  • When is the best time to deal with hard-water spotting?

Winter, once the irrigation is off for the season. Treating it in December or January means it isn't being re-deposited a week later, and it stops the multi-year build-up that does permanent damage.

  • Can a few of us on the same street book together?

Yes, and it's worth asking. If we're already on your street the scheduling is easier for everyone. Mention it when you book.
